Travelling was always part of my plan, from a young age I was always interested in the world and what it had to offer and certainly coming to live in the UK as I have a British passport was always part of the plan.
I first began travelling in 2007 when I went to work on the island of Koh Samui in Thailand as a teacher. During this time I travelled through South East Asia to Thailand, Laos and Vietnam before returning home to save up for the next adventure. During this time I purchased a Nikon DSLR camera and have barely put it down since, I am a keen photographer and spend most trips behind the lens.
I left home (Auckland, New Zealand) in April 2010 to embark on an ‘OE’ (overseas experience) as we kiwis like to call it, hoping to see Europe, get a job, meet new people and just do something different with my life. Six years on I have seen and done so much more than I could ever imagine and I see no end in sight. I have visited 41 countries, found a man to share it all with, made some amazing friends, kept a job, bought a wonderful flat in London and enjoyed life by eating too much and drinking far too much wine!
I am currently on a round the world trip which takes in Africa, Philippines, New Zealand, South and Central America. You can read more about this trip here:
I am so lucky to have a husband who shares my passion for travelling so it has been great to share these experiences with someone special. I started writing this blog just before I embarked on my current Europe journey back in 2010, I hope you enjoy seeing what I have seen and it helps you or inspires you in some way.
