This year my trip to Jersey was filled with sunshine and beaches and it’s just what Jersey does best.
This year we went out to Jersey for five days for Dan’s sisters wedding and every single day was full of sunshine and warm weather so that meant a lot of beach time.
Dan and I stayed in Gorey this time which is something we haven’t done before and it was definitely a good choice. We stayed at Maison Gorey which is in Gorey Village and a five minute walk to the beach and another 10 minutes to the castle in Gorey. As you can see the water in Gorey was crystal clear.
One of my favourite things about Jersey is the overwhelming amount of hydrangea bushes absolutley everywhere on the island, I’m a big fan of this flower and seeing them everywhere was just so lovely. How amazing are these colours?
Gorey Village itself is so quaint and there are the most gorgeous cottages everywhere, it’s a real mix of French and English style cottages.
We popped up to Mont Orgueil pre wedding to check it out and it really is just a phenomenal location. On one side there are harbour views and on the other side it is fantastic beach.
The wedding day rolled around and we enjoyed the whole day so much! We got a special ride on a vintage bus from the wedding to the reception, canapés and bubbles were served at the top of the castle and the meal was delicious. The constant views throughout the reception were just mind boggling.
We spent a couple of days at the beach just chilling out, first at Gorey and then at Bouley Bay.
Dan and I went on a hike along the coastal path near Bouley Bay, the views were brilliant and well worth the walk up in the midday heat! You can see out to France on a clear day which we could.
Of course all too soon it was time to depart, I just love Jersey, I always have a great time but of course this time was extra special because of the wedding. Such a great time with the family, I look forward to visiting when we get back from our travels.
