I always knew July was going to be one of those crazy, busy, expensive months but I’ve had so much on! It’s been exciting though, seeing all my London friends before we head off and catching up with old friends as well has been a real treat. So here’s what I got up to in July.
I caught up with some old school friends on Broadway Market one Saturday night, it’s so great to know that years can pass but we can just pick up and continue the laughs.
We had some incredible blue skies and flowers bloom this month, I still maintain that London is the best place in the world when the sun shines. Everyone is out and about, the pubs are full, the parks are heaving and it just has such a good vibe.
My girlfriends and I treated Rachel to her come dine with me prize at a new pizza joint on Holloway Road called Zia Lucia. They have a really good range of pizzas including gluten free/vegetable bases. I loved the interior as well, definitely recommend this place! Come early though because when we left there was a queue out the door!
I finally tried Bird on Holloway Road as well since it opened earlier this year and has been on my list. I went for a chicken Parma burger and it was not too shabby!
Dan’s parents came to visit for a weekend so we took a walk around St Katharines Dock and Tower Bridge. Then on the Sunday we went to Columbia Rd flower market, I popped into my favourite shop Nelly Duff as well and fell in love with so many pieces of art work.
Stevie Wonder played at Hyde Park one Sunday so we did what we do best, pack a picnic and go and sit outside and enjoy the show on the cheap. It was a gorgeous evening, the sun was shining, the birds were singing and Stevie was on fire!
A friend had a rooftop party which was a first for me in London! The views were wicked and so was the sunset.
I then entered my last week of work for the year! Finishing up at work was so satisfying, it was a tough week to get through but the gorgeous weather and canal walks home made it more bearable.
I had my last day at work and celebrated with a few drinks down the pub with all the work crew. I’m going to miss seeing their faces everyday!
By total coincidence a few of my girlfriends had Wednesday off work so we got some culture at the Victoria Miro gallery to see the Yayoi Kusama exhibition that was absolute instagram gold.
After our culture we headed to the only place that served bottomless on a week day which was Pizza Buzz near Old Street. We paid £29.99 for pizza and two hours of prosecco drinking. It was really good value and they topped up our drinks regularly before just handing us carafes to drink from.
To finish up this wonderful month we had a bbq in London Fields with our friends to say farewell.
