As you may know I’ve been to Jersey several times and it is fast becoming one of my favourite destinations to visit. I am very lucky to have family that live there so we try and get over at least twice a year, once in the summer which I have shared before but I thought it was time to share what it’s like to visit Jersey in the winter months.
First of all the flight from London is a quick 40 minutes so you are there before you know it, EasyJet now flies there and you can get a return flight for as little as £35. Upon arrival the weather was pretty bad, it was raining and windy but by the second day the skies were clear, bright blue and the Jersey sun was shining down on us for the rest of the trip.
We went to a few beaches throughout the week, even though it’s winter nothing beats getting outside in the fresh air! It’s something I really miss whilst living in London, fresh air!
We went for a walk to Bouley Bay one morning.
Breakfast was served at ‘The Hungry Man’ in Rozel Bay. I went for my classic egg, bacon and cheese burger. This place never fails to serve up some great breakfast food and it has the most idyllic setting (even in the winter).
We wandered along the never ending beach at St Brelade’s Bay.
We had a delectable afternoon tea at L’Horizon Hotel on St Brelade’s Bay, this was a great winter activity as we could enjoy the beautiful view in front of a huge window overlooking the bay from the comfort of the hotel.
We spent the morning with some special animals at Durrell and the sun was shining. You can read more about my winter experience at Durrell here.
Our last morning was spent at a gorgeous beach (I can’t remember the name) but my husband thinks that no trip to Jersey is complete without a dip in the sea. Even though it was cold, a bit grey and February this didn’t stop him having his baywatch moment.
I never want to leave Jersey and this trip was no different but luckily we are back in August for a wedding…in a castle! Until next time Jersey.
