You may be a little confused with the title of this post, you probably haven’t thought about spending your summer in Camden Town but read on and your mind may be changed.
You may know the Round house as an iconic music venue in Camden town but from now until the end of August the roof top has been converted into a little beach haven. There is plenty of sand, deck chairs, tunes, fish and chips and most importantly cold beverages.
I was lucky enough to visit on opening weekend and it wasn’t too busy when we got there at 12.30 so there was no queueing. It was also a beautiful sunny Sunday and I even got a little burnt so remember to take your sun cream. You can rent these little beach huts for you and friends to drink prosecco and beer in the sunshine, it’ll set you back about £350 though.
The drinks were a little on the expensive side, a rum mixer cost £8 at the main bar but there was a craft beer container called Pork where you can get a cider or beer for ‘normal’ price of £4.20 and they also serve sausages.
There is a rum shack, a Stoli lemonade van and a fish and chip shop where you can pick up your traditional fish and chips to make you feel like you are truly at the English sea side. The best bit? It’s FREE!

Proud Secret Garden
I love Proud Gallery in the Stables Market, every time I’m in Camden I pop in as they always have great exhibitions and talented musicians playing on Sundays. One of my favourite exhibitions was the Edie Sedgwick Warhols Muse from last year. This visit was a little different as I discovered the Proud Secret Garden which has recently opened for the summer. It is a welcoming place filled with colourful flowers, bunting, plenty of seats, live music, yummy food and just good vibes.
We easily nabbed a table, listened to a brilliant guitarist sing some tunes and basked in the rare London sunshine. The food on offer looked delicious – burgers, pizzas and the flatbread and dips looked like the perfect snack.
If you are game enough there is even a hot tub right by the bar, there were no takers when we were there but after a few drinkies anything can happen!

Camden is one of my favourite spots in London, I am looking forward to checking out the newly opened Cereal Killer Cafe, The Diner and of course spending more sunny days at these two spots over the next month.
