Summer has well and truly arrived (sort of) in London, it is warm but not always sunny and there’s been a bit of rain chucked in to just show you that you can never really plan anything even though it is summer.
So this month started off with our taste club meet up, this one was a little different, we decided to do a home edition cue the hashtag #tasteclubhomedition
Rachel was house sitting so kindly offered to host a bbq at her place, she did an amazing job of getting some great food together and cooked the bbq in the garden. We had plenty of drinks and may of had a little Spice Girl dance party to practice our skills for the upcoming Spice Girls party we were attending (keep reading).
Cara and I then attended a fantastic 4th of July event the following day hosted by Three Mobile. It was a really fun day with lots of good eats, yum drinks, fun games and lots of cool bloggers.
We then walked down the canal to meet friends in London Fields, I got there just in time for this pretty sunset.
The hungover Sunday blues were cured with a trip to Dirty Burger in Kentish Town. This place is a teeny tiny little shack tucked away behind Pizza East. I went for the bacon cheese burger with a chocolate and banana milkshake, hangover cured!
One very hot evening after work I opted to walk home via the canal just because and was graced with a cute little family of swans.
Later that week whilst London was feeling angry because there was a tube strike, my friends and I opted for a tube strike pub crawl because we had tickets to the theatre in town. It was a hilarious night and one we will remember for ages. You can read about all of the pubs we visited and the celebrity we met at the end of it here.
The next weekend my friends and I had tickets to the Prince Charles Theatre in Leicester Square. This theatre plays cult films and hosts sing a long evenings. We thought for a laugh we would dress up as the Spice Girls and go along. So we chose who would be what spice and got our costumes together. I was posh so thank goodness my outfit wasn’t too out there. We had an absolute blast here, because we were some of the only people dressed up we were hauled up before the movie started to show our best poses and sing our fav song. We each received a free ticket to another movie for our efforts. There was a bar on site so we got pretty drunk, watched the Spice World movie and sang at every possible opportunity. I highly highly recommend!
Work started to wind down for the summer so there were a few more school nights out and about, one at John Salt drinking 2 for 1 cocktails, dinner at Cafe La Davinia (again) and drinks in the new garden at the Rose and Crown which is my local.
I tried a new brunch spot which is local to me. Somewhere over Knowhere opened recently in Kentish Town and serves up cafe food as well as staying open some nights of the week. I went for their hash brown breakfast and it was so good! I can confirm the hot chocolate aint bad either.
