As you may be aware I like to travel…alot! Most of my travel involves air so that means I’ve always got some time for the duty free shops. Here are my favourite purchases that I like to buy from duty free before embarking on the next journey. Keep reading for a special give away at the end!
I travel mainly from Gatwick Airport and sometimes I feel like it is my second home! First and foremost I always purchase two bottles of water at duty free as water is the most important thing to have whilst flying. Being hydrated comes first and foremost on the plane and without it my mouth is dry and my lips get horribly chapped.
I always purchase my foundation at the airport because it is only £17, so much cheaper than from MAC shops or Selfridges . This make up last’s me a good 4 months as well, I’ve only recently switched to MAC and wish I had done it sooner as it is long wear and doesn’t clog my pores. I chose MAC Studio Fix Fluid with an SPF of 15.
Travel sized toiletries
Because most of my travel is within Europe I almost always just pack carry on luggage which means I can only take 100ml or less of toiletries and Boots is the best place to stock up on these. I chose Simple face care as it has always been kind to my skin.
New Zealand Duty Free Stores
When venturing home I pick up a bottle of 42 Below Vodka from Duty Free Store NZ. You can actually pre-order your purchases via the website before departure and pick it up upon arrival which is very helpful when you are itching to get out of the arrival gate and into the arms of loved ones.
Before leaving home I always pick up a few kiwi treats as well to tie me over before someone sends me a care package from home. My favourites are pineapple lumps but I also love these little Pukeko Poo’s also from the Duty Free Store NZ.
Any other airport
You may or may not know that I’m a total geek because I like to collect fridge magnets from each destination I go to, as you can imagine my fridge is very quickly running out of space. Sometimes because I’m having too much fun I forget to pick one up so stores at airports are great for this! Check out my ridiculous fridge covered in wonderful memories.
My next purchase at the Duty Free Stores will be a (fingers crossed) Go Pro Hero4. I have wanted one of these bad boys for ages! I was almost about to buy one on the last trip but husband said “Maybe if you hadn’t just bought a Mulberry bag you could have one but not this time”.
