I have lots of lovely activities coming up over the next few months that I am very excited about!
Firstly, tomorrow I am going to Tromso in Norway in search of the Northern Lights. Tromso is probably going to be the coldest place I have ever visited being in the Arctic Circle and all but I have got my snow boats and will packing plenty of layers. Having failed to see them in Iceland two years ago we think we have a pretty good chance of seeing them here but if not there are plenty of other destinations that are on the bucket list. I am going for four days and will try at every opportunity for this mystical phenomenon. I am also looking forward to just having a week off work, so nice when you can turn that alarm off.
In March it’s all about the food! We have a reservation (finally) at the Duck and Waffle for breakfast, it is at 9am on a Saturday morning but hey I am not complaining! I can’t wait to get the view over London and dine at this famous restaurant. The following week we are dining at Madison at St Pauls. This restaurant has an amazing view over St Paul’s Cathedral and it is where my husband and I are celebrating our four year anniversary of being together. Our friends gave us vouchers for an engagement present and after dining at New Street Grill just before our wedding we are using the rest of the vouchers at Madisons. I can’t wait, I just love going to nice restaurants.
Some friends and I have also started ‘Tastecard Club’. I’ve had a taste card for two years now and I do use it as much as possible but we thought twice a month we would get together and go somewhere different each time to experience new places. We even made up some rules
1. One person organises dinner each time
2. We cannot eat the same cuisine in the same month
3. You must keep it a secret
This week we went to Jamon Jamon on Upper Street and went a little tapas loco! Don’t worry though I’m not turning into a food blogger!
We are heading to Scotland for 1o days of road tripping at the end of March which I am really looking forward to as it is about time I discovered somewhere a little closer to home. We are flying to Edinburgh and picking up a car the following day and heading for the Highlands and in search of castles and Loch’s. Any tips are welcomed for this trip as I have done not a lot of research thus far.
After leaving Scotland we fly over to Ireland to visit a friend in Cork city, we will spend a couple of days there, a night in his home village and at a beach house on the coast (I am hoping for a bit of sunshine but not holding out).
In April I am going on the Macaroons and Mews walking tour with Yannick and a few other bloggers which I am very much looking forward to after reading Kelly’s post about it here.
Finally my friends and I have booked to see Romeo and Juliet at Shakespeares Globe Theatre, I have been wanting to go and see something here for ages and I am so glad Cara was on to it and checked when the tickets went on sale as the good dates were gone within a couple of hours. As the play is only on for two weeks we are stuck with a Monday night but I’m sure this will be a great experience.
Last but not least my friend who I met travelling in America who is from England but now lives in New Zealand is coming back for a visit and I just cannot wait to see her! We had so much fun together when we lived in the same city but she has chosen Queenstown as her home (I understand why) and is loving the kiwi life. Many wines to be had I’m sure.
So those are my plans for the next few months, what are your plans?
