I can officially say the craziest time in my life (so far) is now officially over!
In the last few months so many wonderful things have happened to me and I am so grateful for the memories and good times that I’ve had I feel I have to share this really special time.
It all began in June 2013 at Glastonbury Festival when my man got down on one knee and proposed, from that moment on life changed considerably but all those changes didn’t seem real until July this year.
In July my bestie from New Zealand who had previously lived in London came to London to hang out and help me with wedding plans. Not only was it great to see my friend but she was so happy to be back in London and have another Europe summer, not long after my sister arrived from New Zealand we had so much fun exploring London, Brighton, Cheddar and Bath and just hanging out.
More friends and family arrived in New Zealand in the week leading up to the wedding it was a crazy busy time but so nice to see their faces, share some memories and drink lots of wine!
The wedding came around so quickly on August 2nd in London. It was such a memorable day from start to finish and so nice to have all the people we love dearly in one room! You can read more about the London wedding here
After the wedding there was again lots of drinking, eating and catching up with people, a trip to Buckingham Palace and farewells with my friends and family. The day at Buckingam Palace is here
Next stop was the Maldives for two weeks with the new husband which was insane to say the least. It was an absolute dream holiday and I will cherish the wonderful way we started married life.
All the posts on this wonderful holiday are as follows:
When we got back to London it was another wedding of two friends that was so much fun and so nice to see people we hadn’t seen for awhile. The following morning (a little hungover) it was off to Italy for a week.
Venice was the first stop for three days before training to Cinque Terre to spend the next five days hiking, eating, drinking, swimming and chilling.
The summer of love was almost over as it was back to work on September 1st but the trips weren’t quite over! We spent the following weekend on the lovely island of Jersey to celebrate Dan’s birthday with his sister. We were so lucky that the sun shone all weekend and we were able to get out on the boat and go to Le Ecrehous, a smattering of tiny islands in-between Jersey and France for the morning. A really special place.
The last hooray was in Paris! Only one of my favourite places in the world and again it didn’t disappoint! Strolling, eating, drinking and getting a bit of culture at the Lourve was a great way to finish up an epic summer!
I’m exhausted, broke and have hundreds of photos to edit, print and plenty of blog posts to write but lucky for me I have a brand new macbook air to do it all on.
I have loved many many things about this summer but my goodness am I glad it’s over. Only 4 more weeks until the next trip – Madrid and Porto October 2014.
