I have been meaning to write this post for ages! Unfortunately this fantastic show is now finished at National Portrait Gallery but have a read anyway as you may have missed it!
This was an incredibly popular show at NPG and this was my second attempt at going as the first time the waiting time was around three hours. This time we went straight in as it was nearing the closing of the exhibition. The cost was £14.50 or £16 with gift aid, I chose with gift aid as I visit this particular museum quite often and I think it is fantastic that it is free of charge.
We went in at our allotted time slot and straight away were amazed at how many rooms there were and also how many pictures, we really weren’t expecting such a great spread. The first picture you see as you walk in is the magnificent Kate Moss in all her glory. The rooms were broken up mainly into era’s and particular bands (there was a fab Rolling Stones room). There was a whole room dedicated to his wife as well as a wall of nudes (cue the children laughing and pointing), I love his black and white simple portraits and seeing just how many people he has photographed over the years. I can imagine he is a very well respected photographer within the music and fashion industry.
Unfortunately there were no photos allowed so here are some of my favourite pictures via google:
