First stop is Prague, Czech Republic – although I have been here already my bf hasn’t and I’m happy to go back to this great city. Brno is also in the Czech Republic and that is the next stop, I’m hoping it will be a smaller/less touristy version of Prague.
We then head into Austria to spend a night in Vienna, again I’ve been to this city before but Dan hasn’t so I’m keen to check it out a bit more as I didn’t actually see much last time.
After Austria we head into Slovakia to spend some time in Bratislava, I’ve heard some great things about this place so I’m really looking forward to it.
After here we go into Croatia where we will spend the next two weeks. The capital Zagreb is the first stop before going to Plitvice Lakes where we can spend some time with nature and chilling out after so many cities. The pictures I’ve seen of this national park looks incredible, can’t wait to see those turquoise lakes. The next stop is Split where we will meet up with friends to board a sailing trip for the next six days with Med Sailors around the islands of the Adriatic. Dubrovnik is the last stop in Croatia and from all accounts it is a stunning old town.
We then head into Bosnia to the small town of Mostar which is most famous for it’s bridge before heading onto the capital Sarajevo (for my birthday) for two nights. My bf is a real history war buff so I’m sure he’ll enjoy Bosnia the most.
The last leg of the trip is going to be in Montenegro, I know by this stage of the trip I will be wanting some chill out, relax and sleep time. We will be spending 3 nights in a seaside town called Sveti Stefan where I will be swimming, sleeping and working on my tan before we go to Kotor which will be the last stop of the trip. The Bay of Kotor looks breath taking and again I can’t wait to just relax and enjoy what Montenegro has to offer.
Certainly a perk of being a teacher is having six glorious weeks off during the summer (paid I might add). Very much looking forward to spending six weeks travelling Eastern Europe in the sun!
