At the end of 2009 my friend and I went to Sydney to ring in the new year. We spent the day at Bondi beach before heading into her Uncles very well placed apartment to get the most wonderful view of the fireworks you could imagine.
Once I finally got myself a job and a flat (many months after moving to London) there was only one more thing to do, get a new years holiday in. So Egypt was the perfect option, it was cheap (£390 for 2 weeks) I got to have the cultural experience and then celebrate new years eve in Dahab on the red sea. It was a little bit of a let down (muslim country and all) but there was still many laughs.
At the end of 2011 we went to Africa on a 2 week trip through Kenya and Tanzania to end up on the island of Zanzibar for New years. Now I don’t rate Zanzibar at all, it was beautiful yes, the water was incredibly blue but it wasn’t the idyllic island I thought it would be. We rang in the new year at a bar on the beach with our group, it was fun, we popped champagne and partied.

Last years new years was a big fat nothing. Because of floods all over the country we had trouble getting back from Cornwall to London and didn’t arrive back until late on new years eve night so I for once spent it at home watching the London fireworks on the tv.
This year however my lovely friends are hosting a house party and I am really looking forward to bringing in 2014 with my friends.
Happy new year to you all. I hope however you celebrate it is with style.
