After catching a train for 1 hour from Venice, we arrived in Verona mid afternoon and took a stroll around this quaint town. First stop was of course Juliets house. Now I know like everybody else it’s all fake, but I actually really enjoyed the experience. It was a cute house with a little balcony and messages of love surrounding the area. We left our message and headed off for some lunch. We spend some time in the main square in Verona and then continued on to the Roman Forum. It was like the Coloseum, impressive from the outside, not so great from the inside. They hold operas and shows there in the summer, but in the winter it was covered in snow and empty. It did give us a nice view of the town from the top though.
That evening we had the best meal of the trip. The restaurant in Verona was cute and we were serenaded all night by a lovely man playing the piano and singing. The food was amazing and the service was perfect.
I would highly recommened a day trip or a night in Verona, it was everything I was hoping it to be and I’m so glad we got to spend our first Valentines Day together there.
