The next day was a bit of a write off, apart from being incredibly tired I was starting to get sick. After a trip to the chemist and countless cold and flu pills it was time for a sunset camel ride in the desert.
It took about 45 mins to get there and as soon as we got there the sun was setting, it was stunning. The camels were kinda uncomfortable to ride but being on a camel and looking out to the pyramids was awesome. After that we went to see the pyramid light show, it gave a good background but was slightly cheesy.
The second day in Cairo was pretty horrible for me as I was feeling even worse, shakes, fevers, aching and a wicked cough but braved it to get to the Egyptian Museum which has some amazing artefacts and of course the mighty pryamids. They were of course amazing, there is no words to describe them really.
That night we caught an over night train to Aswan. Thoughts on Cairo – go see the pyramids then get the heck outta there, it’s dirty and too spread out to explore on foot.
