On the last day I got a massage and pedicure and had a shisha on the beach, pretty awesome last day really before a huge journey back to London. Before that we needed one last blow out, it invloved Egytian dancers, crazy Russians and 97% alcoholic drink, also some nudity and the hotel pool (not me). The bus took about 8 hours to Cairo, we then slept on some cushions at a hotel before heading to the airport. Flew to Istanbul and actually ate Turkish Delights in Turkey!! That was the highlight of my 4 hour stop over in the airport. I absolutley loved Dahab!!! Super chilled place with good vibes.
The bus from Cairo took around 8 hours, it was a pretty boring journey, all desert until the last couple of hours, which was along the coast, so many little bays and camp sites along the way. It was so nice to be back at the beach, I hadn’t been swimming since Spain in May and I hadn’t seen the sun in a couple of months. It was also touristy friendly which meant alcohol shops! The restuarants don’t sell alcohol but everywhere is BYO. The second day was snorkelling at ‘The Blue Hole’. It was really lovely water, it had some reef and then a drop off which was a lovely turquoise colour, in terms of fish the variety wasn’t great but saw some lovely ones. Just chilled at the beach that day while camels roamed around us.That night we went to Mojito bar, the name says it all really. The next day it rained, actual poured down. The hotel leaked, there was giant puddles everywhere, all the restaurants and shops flooded. The weather wasn’t great for the next couple of days, the sun was out but bit windy so we just hung in town. New Years eve we had a buffet dinner and drinks and a show at the hotel before heading to a bar in town, there wasn’t many people there but we all had a boogie and a laugh and it was open bar so can’t complain. Just did lots of sleeping, relaxing and enjoying the time off in Dahab really, was a good time to recharge the batteries.
