The next day went to a bar that the Beatles played at over 200 times, it is called The Cavern and we also went to a cathedral and a bombed out old church that was never rebuilt from the war. It is now used as a gallery and a lovely photographer took our picture for a mosaic on their website of people who have visited. Sian arrived that afternoon and it was so good to all have a catch up after 2 years! We went out that night and met up with Mags who was also randomly in town. Had an absolute blast as it was my birthday as well.
The next day was my birthday, we had a choice bbq with lovely friends as Sue turned up that afternoon too. Had my first football experience as well, it is the equivilent to 3rd division but still alot of fun, the team were local Tranmere. The next day we went to Manchester, sadly they don’t do Coronation St tours anymore which would’ve been funny. Had a stroll around town, it was good but not as nice as Liverpool I saw the Old Trafford stadium where Manchester United play, it was huge.
My last day in Liverpool was spent trekking around town finding Beatles spots including Penny Lane and Paul and John’s houses. We also did the Liverpool Football at Anfield tour which was really fun, lots of history and pretty much just awesome being there. So sad to leave as it was back to London but no doubt I’ll be back again. Fantastic way to end Eurotrip ’10!!
